Assistant General Manager, Marketing

Job Summary:
The Assistant General Manager of Marketing will be responsible for assisting the General Manager in leading and managing a dynamic team of marketing professionals across five key areas: Strategy, Branding & Communication, Customer Service & Experience, Customer Insights & CRM, and PR & Corporate Communications. He or she will be a strategic thinker and a hands-on leader, with a proven track record of success in driving sales, brand awareness and customer loyalty.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Vision & Growth:

  • Build and expand networks of collaborators and strategic partnerships to create a mutually rewarding ecosystem for vendors, partners, members, and employees.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the strategic roadmap for marketing and customer growth, aligning with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Operation, Business Units, and cross functional departments to develop growth strategies and optimize results.
  • Define, track, and analyze KPIs to measure campaign and activity performance, continuously optimizing strategies for success.

2.   Marketing & Campaign Management:

  • Oversee and review the performance campaigns, programmer including new initiatives and pilots before full implementation.
  • Review competitor surveys and market trends to update marketing strategies and gain a competitive edge.

3.   Customer Experience & Loyalty:

  • Lead the team in delivering initiatives for a seamless offline shopping experience and online customer engagement.
  • Oversee the development of the Peniaga program to drive sustainable revenue growth.
  • Review and evaluate the implementation of the marketing and customer growth roadmap.

4.   Financial Acumen & Optimization:

  • Propose and manage the marketing budget, maximizing income and optimizing expenses.
  • Oversee the redemption program to boost member engagement and maximize income.
  • Oversee in-store advertising inventory and sell-out to maximize income.
  • Source and develop relationships with solution providers to enhance marketing strategies and optimize resources.

5.   Innovation & Transformation:

  • Lead the digital transformation roadmap, including member management, CRM, and online engagement, driving towards long-term company goals.

6.   Financial Acumen & Optimization:

  • Equip and train the next generation of marketing leaders, fostering employee career advancement and succession planning.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment with clear communication and shared goals.

7.  Any other relevant tasks assigned by management as and when is needed

Qualification & Experience Requirements:

  • Marketing Leadership: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration. 
  • 7 years leading marketing teams in retail or FMCG, with a proven track record of driving revenue and customer engagement through successful campaigns.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Strong understanding of customer behavior and analytics, leveraging them to craft and optimize strategies.
  • Omnichannel Mastery: Experience in customer journey mapping, omnichannel marketing, and digital transformation initiatives, ensuring seamless customer experiences across all touchpoints.
  • Financial Acumen: Proven ability to manage marketing budgets, analyze financial performance, and optimize ROI for maximum impact.
  • Team Builder & Motivator: Proven leadership and team management skills, inspiring and developing team members to achieve their full potential.
  • Communication & Influence: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, effectively influencing and motivating diverse teams.
