Segi Cash & Carry

Segi Cash & Carry Sdn Bhd (SCC) is the pioneering business of the Segi Group, it is also the heart of the group’s operations, pumping lifeblood into the business activities of the other units that are mainly revolved around it.

SEGI is synonymous with Fresh – hence Segi Fresh, purveyors of fresh produce to Malaysians for over 30 years, and continuing. Segi Fresh concept stores, introduced by Segi Cash & Carry Sdn Bhd (SCC), the pioneering business of the Segi Group, specialises in providing fresh and quality food supply to its customers, whilst ensuring prices remain competitive and affordable.

‘Pilih Fresh, Pilih Segi’ is the tagline that fully embodies its concept – and this mission of always providing fresh produce is recognised by the many awards won by it over the years. 

SCC is currently embarking on a massive expansion mode to reach out to its customers. With a stronghold of 60 stores located within the Klang Valley, and other states including Perak, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka, it is envisaged to achieve 100 stores by year 2023 and more beyond.

Segi Agriculture

A trading company which major in importing, exporting and wholesaling of agricultural products. Since its inception in 1997, Segi Agriculture has scoured farmlands throughout Southeast Asia and further afield in China, India and Pakistan to provide its customers and wholesalers with a varied and exciting selection of agricultural products. These include kitchen perennials such as dried chilies, potatoes, beans, and spices, as well as an assortment of fruits and vegetables, all of which are sourced directly from farmers both locally and abroad.

 Prior to distribution, these products are housed at SAE’s very own warehouse and chilled storage facilities which has a total combined space of 350,000 square feet. At these facilities, standard operating procedures and strict quality control measures are observed to ensure the quality of food items are not compromised on its way to the market.

Segi Marine

SME sources its products directly from fisherman both locally and those in the neighbouring countries like Thailand and Indonesia. From red snapper and pomfret to mackerel and catfish, as well as other aquatic favourites like shrimp and squid, variety is also a priority to ensure a wide selection of fresh and frozen seafood for customers. In addition, SME also supplies meat and poultry fresh from the farm to retail chain stores.

 It aims to uphold its standards by ensuring quality products are being supplied to our customers and maintaining the freshness and quality of the seafood, meat and poultry in line with the concept of Segi stores; Segi Fresh.

Segi Logistic

The Logistics Company Which Specialized In Shipping, Warehousing, Inventory Management And Local Transportation Network

SEGI LOGISTICS was established in April 2012 with the objective to enhance our distribution channel and add value to our business model as described earlier. Products sourced directly shall be channeled to Segi Logistics which also act as our Fulfillment Centre (FC) who manages all logistic requirements and distributions to our own retail chain stores.

 It further adds value and commanding the stewardship in our business by managing our shipping (including import & export) protocols, warehousing of all sourced products (dried goods), ordering and inventory management and local transportation network.

 Segi Logistics is seen as the catalyst of this business model, acting as the intermediary function between the Group’s direct sourcing activities and our retail operations network. The seamless processes and administrative function undertaken by Segi Logistics bridges the gap between direct sourcing (upstream) and the retail operations.

 It’s operations is self-sustaining as it is built on a platform that supports the entire Group’s business model. However, with the facilities it is created upon, it envisaged to grow organically by venturing into the renting of its space for storage via its’ cold room facilities.

 Ultimately, the challenges faced by Segi Logistics is not one where the usual logistics company faces, but lies about how to effectively handle thousands of different products that is channeled through its warehouse and fulfillment centre before distributing to all Segi’s retail store network in a timely manner, while maintaining its’ freshness.

Segi Realty

Segi Realty – Supporting The Growth Of Business And Overall Expansion Of The Group

Segi Realty (SR) was actually formed to support the growth of business units and the overall expansion of the group. As Segi continues to grow, the company will need more facilities for new retail stores and warehouses. Through its team of professional staff, SR sets out to prospect for suitable land and premises, as well as conducting feasibility studies to determine the viability of such investments. Furthermore, SR is responsible for supervising the renovation, title transfer, and build-to-lease properties for the operational use of other business units. It also manages the maintenance of all Segi’s building and capital investment.

Its challenges lies in the provision of suitable sites that caters to the business needs as laid within the parameters determined.

From import to export, trading to logistics, distribution and property management, each business unit was established as a natural extension of the company’s growth, which is motivated by its corporate mission to create value for the community, consumers and vendors. By maintaining sight over all aspects of its supply chain, Segi is able to ensure that the products at its retail stores are of good quality and reasonably priced.

Groceries, produce, and meat are directly sourced from farmers, fishermen, and manufacturers both locally and abroad, eliminating the cost of engaging middle men in order to pass on the savings to customers. The company is further able to exercise control over freshness and quality by supervising its own logistics, which includes storage and distribution to all its marketing networks and consumers.
